It's Finally Finished!!
Kresley Cole is a master at grabbing your attention,
trapping you in a story and keeping your attention with plots that never stop.
This captivating story had me addicted from the beginning to end, and then I
was mad because I wanted more. The more
she writes, the better she gets.
This book is the final draft of "the Professional"
the first story of Cole's new Game Maker Series. Sevastyan (also known as “the Siberian”),a
fiercely loyal Sexy Russian Mafiya enforcer.
He is ordered to find and protect Grad Student Natalie Porter, the boss’
long lost daughter. This becomes
difficult when he finds himself immediately attracted to her. It is made more difficult when he realizes
that she is attracted to him also.
The finished story
was well worth the wait. While the first
two released draft(s) of the story seemed forced at places, Cole has obviously
begun to settle in with these characters and boy does she write them well. Sevastyan’s strong, silent and deadly
personality and even his dominant personality.
His overwhelming loyalty to his boss and foster father makes you immediately
drawn to him.
Natalie is a financially challenged American Grad School
student who is thrown into another world, when she finally finds her long lost
father only to find that he is a dangerous Mafiya boss. She seems almost unbelievably naive at
times, and it tended to be unrealistic and annoying at times. The ending to this story really threw me a
curve. It still was a bit rushed (I’m
sure she could have smoothed out the plot with more dialogue between the two at
the end), but it still was a good HEA.
Cole even introduces colorful characters like Maksim, Sevastyan’s brothers who I
can’t wait to read more about. I will be
on the edge of my seat waiting for the next installment. It’s like having a present, but not being
able to find it. You know the story will
be good once you can find it and open it up.
Just for my special readers:
Here is a sneak preview of the Prologue and the first chapter of Dark Skye (Maksim's Story).
Read more about Kresley Cole (I recommend her Immortals After Dark Series) at her web site web site. You can also follow her on Twitter (twitter username: kresleycole). She is one of those authors you want to keep up with.
